What I Ate Today #1

I often watch what I eat in a day videos, so I thought that I want to make one myself. I did that on Saturday (October 1st). I didn’t have many plans that day, I mostly worked on my university stuff. So you can see, what I ate on such a day.

Breakfast. Pancakes made from my usual recipe. I just aded more milk, so the pancakes turned out thinner. They went really well with caramelized apples (sautee a chopped up apple with a bit of brown sugar and cinnamon) and peanut butter (you need to warm it up, so you can drizzle it).

Lunch. My first time at Planeta. I got to know about it a while ago through auGalybė (it’s a really cool initiative. They have a map for vegan-friendly places in Lithuania but besides that they also encourage restaurants to add more veggie options to their menus. If you are visiting Lithuania, you should check our their map as they are adding new places to eat constantly). But it just so happens that you know a place, but never get around to go there. And then you regret that you didn’t go there earlier. That’s what happened with Planeta. I went there with my boyfriend, so we ordered two dishes, which we shared.

October 1st is the international vegetarian day and they had a special offer for that day – vegan fish and chips. I’ve never had the real thing, so I can’t compare, but I really liked their version. They said that they might add this to their permanent menu too.

We also had a happy „chicken“ wrap. The wrap featured tofu nuggets and lots of veggies and nice side salad. It was also really good.

After the lunch we decided to stay there for a bit more and work on our computers (if you need wi-fi, it’s also a really good place to go to). So we also had some coffee. The names of their coffees are cool and witty. I had Spicy Venus, which is a spicy latte. I also saw that they have a pancake with chili filling, which I really want to try next.

The weather on Saturday was amazing so we had a really nice walk home. Then, my boyfriend decided to make dinner. While he was cooking I had a glass of homemade pineapple kombucha.

And for dinner.. We had wraps again. But sometimes it just so happens that you have the same thing twice in a day. And they were delicious anyway. My boyfriend just added veggies (cabbage, olives, corn, tomatoes) and peaces of soy “meat“ to them. We also had a few chips on the side.

Taigi, toks mano šeštadienis. Kitą kartą, jei daugiau gaminsiu pati, nufilmuosiu/aprašysiu plačiau patiekalų gaminimo procesą.

    1. Thanks!
For kombucha: I brew 3 liters of black tea (4 teabags) with 1 cup of white sugar. When it cools down, I add around a cup of kombucha from the previous batch and the scoby. I leave it to ferment for 8-10 days. Then pour it to glass bottles with some juice and leave it for 2-3 more days. Lastly, refrigerate, strain and enjoy 🙂
For soy: soak it in hot water for 2-3 minutes. Heat up a frying pan, add a bit of oil, the soy and loooots of spices (salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder)
